Donna Draper
Healing Arts Facilitator & Artist
Donna offers wellness workshops in the community at large and in her Cobble Hill studio ‘Kindness Tree Art’. Donna integrates the exploration of art materials, creative process and personal empowerment. We experiment with paints, clay, collage, paper mache and wood. Participants come to cultivate self exploration, self care, spirituality and a desire for living a more creative fulfilling life. Donna’s artwork is Inspired by daily life, relationships and her intuitive nature, and described as figurative with whimsical and magical realism. With cheeky playfulness and forays into the mysterious side she paints animals, figures and faces. She is currently studying oil painting portraiture to balance out her serious side.

These sessions are not specifically directed at making beautiful works of art. The emphasis is on building confidence, finding a sense of freedom, and increasing capacity to allow for the experimentation that provides a full range of artistic expression of self. If you are looking for perfection in creative output using definitive art school techniques please look elsewhere. In my studio I am much more interested in working with the whole person, fostering growth through building quality respectful relationships while providing a setting that promotes all the above.

Discover the freedom of painting without rules or expectations in this Intuitive Process Painting workshop, inspired by the teachings of Chris Zydel, Stewart Cubley, and Michele Cassou. These pioneers helped establish intuitive painting as a practice focused on exploration, self-discovery, and creative spontaneity—rather than specific techniques or outcomes.
In this workshop, you’ll experience the joy of letting each brushstroke guide the next, embracing uncertainty and playful experimentation. This process encourages you to release fear, let go of perfectionism, and trust your creative instincts. Through layering, happy accidents, and spontaneous expression, you’ll uncover a unique visual language that is entirely your own.
All materials are provided. This class uses Tempera Paint. No prior painting experience is needed—just an open mind and a willingness to explore. Come ready to enjoy the process and see what emerges!
